Producer & Origin
This lot comes from Alexander Vargas of Finca La Piragua in Acevedo, Huila. Alexander began working in coffee at fifteen and has spent more than two decades refining his approach to specialty production. His focus on Striped Red Bourbon, Pink Bourbon, and Geisha has earned him multiple Cup of Excellence nominations, reflecting both precision and intentionality in his processing.

At La Piragua, Alexander maintains a small on-farm coffee laboratory for cupping and classification, ensuring quality consistency lot after lot. He also grows dragon fruit to support year-round farm stability — part of his broader strategy toward sustainable, diversified agriculture.

Processing Details
This Natural Striped Red Bourbon undergoes sealed-barrel fermentation to build fruit depth while maintaining clarity.

  • Fermentation: 60 hours in airtight barrels

  • Drying: 18 days in covered drying sheds

  • Moisture: 10%

The result is a clean, fruit-forward natural with dried-fruit sweetness, chocolate depth, and a crisp citrus lift.
