Producer and Origin

Cocarive Cooperative works with coffee growers in and around Carmo de Minas on the slopes of the Serra da Mantiqueira. Member producers follow detailed quality protocols designed to improve consistency, traceability, and cup quality.

The coffee grows in volcanic ash soils, with average temperatures between 17°C and 23°C and annual rainfall between approximately 1,100 and 1,200 millimeters.

Processing

The coffee cherries are mechanically harvested and carefully selected before drying. The selected fruit is spread across concrete patios and dried in the sun for approximately five days. It is then moved to covered patios, where drying continues until the coffee reaches its ideal moisture level.

Keeping the fruit around the seed during drying helps create the coffee’s caramel sweetness, berry character, and rounded body.

Cup Experience

Expect a smooth, balanced cup with semi-sweet chocolate, toasted nuts, and brown sugar. The profile is rich and comforting, with a rounded sweetness that makes it an approachable everyday coffee.

Its versatility makes it an excellent choice for drip coffee, French press, espresso, and cold brew.
